The gilded form is a mixture of faux gold leaf and bronzed powder gold pigment, and has a lot of textural interest on it’s own. The combination of teal/green and gold got me thinking of the visual language of currency, and the title arrived as a play on that. I also wanted to explore the combination of relatively loose gestural lines within a tight geometric composition, with subtle tonal shifts.
